Hi.
Keep in mind that there are plenty of ways to automate things in
Windows. There is, for example, Auto Hotkey
http://www.autohotkey.com/
which is free, open source, and can automate keyboard entry and mouse clicks.
Also, I used to use DOS, and when I wrote batch scripts they would
work only on the command line. That is, if I wished the program to go
to lynx, whether on the Unix shell or in DOS itself, I could start
Lynx, but then would have to enter the credentials for any site
myself.
Finally, keep in mind that command line scripts and batch files are
available in Windows, even up to Windows 8.
