Hi Ali,

What model of Mac is it? I have a Mac Mini and there are a special adaptor
cables which allow you to connect a regular monitor. I can't quite see you
easily getting a USB, FireWire or Bluetooth monitor.

Steve,
It looks like the physical screen is gone as I do not have anything displayed
on the Mac side either. I have reinstalled all the drivers no luck, it is
still grey. Unfortunately I do not have much connection option for this Mac
for an external monitor. It will either has to be USB, wirefire or a Bluetooth
monitor.

Thank you

Ali

Hi,

I wonder if the physical screen is damaged? Could you plug an external monitor
into it and see what happens?

All the best

Hi,
Both display adaptor and the monitor indicate that they are functioning fine,
but, for some reason, I am not getting anything on the screen.

Thank you

Ali

I'd start by checking Device Manager/Display Adapters. It probably wouldn't
tell you anything useful in my experience, but worth checking never the less.

Hi all,
Does anyone know how I can check if my video and graphic cards are functioning
properly? Apparently I do not have anything on my screen and it is dark grey.
I asked my son to have a look at it when I re-start the system, he says it only
changes from black to dark grey nothing displayed and at the moment it is dark
grey nothing displayed.

I am using windows 7 on an Imac computer with jaws 13 pro.

Note
Display is adjusted not to turn off, and all the other settings are recommended
settings, jaws and voiceover are functioning without any problems.

Thank you

Ali

Hi Colin,

Well it depends on which screen reader you want to log on at startup. In JAWS
it is in Basic Options and in Window-Eyes, it is in General. If you want
neither to start up, then you need to turn Log On at Startup off on both screen
readers.

All teh best

Greetings,

I have just taken deliverey of a new W7 system with JawsV14 and windowEyes
V8.whatever, it still needs a lot more tweaking.

One problem is, both launch at startup and W.E is in demo mode, Jaws is alright.

I knew on my old system somewhere, no longer working but files saved to new
one, I had a document from ages ago sent to AccessUK about how to stop this
happening but the date of the post is 2001, hence, in the early days of
WindowsXP.

I paste in the document below, so please can somebody tell me how to stop this
happening under W7 Premium 64? Please, I am very novvice with W7 so please keep
it very simple.

Richard,

If Window-Eyes is in the startup group you need to remove it. Do the
following. 1. bring up the start menu with control-escape. 2. type "p"
for programs. 3. Arrow down to startup and hit enter. 4. Arrow down to
Window-Eyes and do shift-f10. 5. Arrow down to delete and hit enter.
Answer yes.

If you are using load before Startup bring up the Window-Eyes control panel
control-backslash, alt-f for file and arrow to load before startup. If this is
on hit enter to turn it off.

I hope this helps. If you have problems write me at billh@xxxxxxxxxxx
