Hi Darran. Thanks for the advice. I managed to get the lamewin32.exe file and this seems to have satisfied Goldwave as I am now able to save in mp3 format. However, as for Direct X, I have downloaded version 9, but when I select Direct X from the available plug-ins in Goldwave, I am advised that there are no compatible direct x audio files available. Goldwave will still work, but it leaves me wandering why plug-in's are necessary at all and why I have an option to select various types? Thanks again for your help. Andy. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Darren Brewer" <darren.m.brewer@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, October 09, 2004 6:53 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: direct x problem > Hi Andy > Well I've had a look and I have version 5 running on my Win 98SE > computer.
