Local folders are indeed in OE, which is where you need to create the new
empty folders. The instruction about moving a test type file moved into each
empty folder is essential so the system recognises the folders existance.

It is only then you can go in through documents and settings and follow to
owner, local settings etc and copy into the outlook express folder where the
dbx files reside.

Barry's instructions may seem long winded but the only way I know to do it.

Kind Regards

  Hi David
Sorry haven't been back sooner but I will be trying your instructions this
weekend, also I am using XP, does it make any difference to your instructions.
Also could you tell me where I find Local settings in OE, in your
instructions, or should it be local folders.
  Many thanks for your help.
  Kind Regards
  Geoff

Could someone kindly advise me as to how I can move .dbx files from my
documents folder into outlook express.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
