On my Iphone, I usually ask Siri this sort of question.

On my Windows PC, I google for something like:

Convert US dollars to pounds

And see what sites come up.

One I found that does the job is:

Rates change daily, and rates of exchange and charges differ significantly.  
Post Office is thought by some to be a fair guide.
