hi steve.

Well, drupal 6 is a lot easier to get to grips with if you've never used drupal before. every section has a summary explaining what it does. the views module can be tricky to use and i still haven't got the hang of it, it sounds like its more for visuals anyway, rotating banners, flash news/blog items updating in realtime, etc. in short stuff you wouldn't need for an accessible site if you wanted to work well with screen readers. i'm self taught. i've done some PHP coding here and there, but then i thought i'd begin looking in to content management systems as coding was too long winded. i tried wordpress, joomla, drupal and a couple of others and drupal came out on top hands down. i'd recommend just doing a test install of 6, getting used to it then transitioning to 7 though if you're already comfortable using 7 you may not need to.

all the best,

Mo.

Hi Mo,

How did you learn Drupal initially, just by ploughing through the docs?
That's what I'm doing at the moment, but do you know a good Drupal tutorial
that includes 7? I have Drupal 7 because there's a lot of stuff in the core
that isn't in 6 and I think it will be easier to go that route.

All the best

hi David.

I've been using drupal for years for my clients. take a look at the
following sites for examples. if needs be, i can supply hosting very
cheaply, for as little as £40 a year that's totally unlimited hosting
for unlimited websites. because i've built my own custom packages, i can
deploy a website for people to work from within an hour with all
accessibility features enabled. I mainly use drupal 6 as that has the
most modules available for it at this time and is still being actively
maintained. the websites are:

http://raspberryvi.org/

Please let me know if you'd like a demo to play with and i'll be happy
to provide you with one so you can log in and have a mess around.

All the best,

Mo.

Hi David,

Well I have installed it, I just need to get used to blocks,
structures and
menus. None of it though is inaccessible the whole lot looks quite
accessible.

I will speak more later, as time permits me to sit down and learn
<Smile>.

All the best

Hi John,
I think the web content management system is called Drupal and I think it
was Steve Nutt, who is developing his new website with this
application. I
am waiting to hear more about how he gets on as its seems to be the best
that is arround that caters for our requirements at present.
