I'd suggest Goldwave as the best and easiest program to use to convert to
and from OGG. You can either convert a file individually simply by
opening
it and saving with the OGG format or use the batch converter to convert
multiple files at once.

I want to convert music tracks either directly from cd or from wave files

the og vorbis format. I believe I can do this using either winamp or
cdex.
Had a look at cdex but I keep getting lost and I wouldn't know where to
start using winamp.
Any suggestions for other applications or help with the two apps
mentioned
above will be gratefully recieved.
