Hi Adrian I've tried many ways of making breaks in MP3 but always go back to Goldwave. Roger Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once. ----- Original Message ----- From: Adrian Higginbotham To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, June 05, 2007 12:52 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: converting AAC files has any one found a good appplication for quickly cutting mp3 files and/or audible books in to smaller segments? I'd had a go with mp3knife a little while back but it didn't seem very jaws friendly. my other half is terrible for falling asleep listening to her shuffle and as the shuffle doesn't support book marking this would seem like one solution for being able to skip around by say ten minute intervals within books. I have several books downloaded from Audible.co.uk, in AAC format. I have used both Goldwave and Switch to convert the AAC files into both mp3, and wav. If I try to play them back, I just get an awful buzzing noise, using winamp and media player. Are these AAC files not meant to be converted? Any help appreciated. Terry
