You'll need to check the EULA (End User License Agreement). Most companies will permit transfer of software ownership (sometimes for a fee), provided the software has been removed from the original buyer's system(s). You may then need to re-register the software in order to obtain updates and/or upgrades, whether they be free or charged for.
