Oh it is still available from Caretec, UK dealers being Force Ten Co and
Computer Room Services, to my knowledge. I don't know how much it is in
comparison to little Colorino, but it has the same male voice, and he can be
charged up. I've had it for three years, and I've only charged it once.
What it does that Colorino doesn't, apart from all the other gimmics, is
tell you the colour and the saturation as well. I'll honestly never forget
once when I took it into S and S so that Will, who works on technical
support, and was one of my favourite colleagues, could play with it. He
took it round the office to try different garments people were wearing.
When he got to one person in the sales team, it told the Colortest 2000 that
he had an off white shirt on, but added that the saturation was a murky
white. The person concerned chimed up with: "The cheeky b****rd, suggesting
my washing is grubby". I tell you that Will and I were in hysterics, along
with everyone else in earshot, it was so funny. In my experience, all
colour identifiers have their quirks, but boy they have their fun too! (big
smile).
