U am no expertm but my experience with trying to use clip-on external
microphones with digital recorders is that the main problem is air flow past
the microphone as you move about. I am told that some come with wind guards to
help with this, so you might want to investigate this.

hi all,

If I use aan external mike with an olympus dm5 will it do the stereo fields of
narrow, normal, and wide as the internal mikes do?
If I am walkinga round surely external is the only option
