"There is no drop down box with the departments listed in it any more - not in a screenreader friendly form anyway." Just visited the Amazon UK site and the drop down box is there and usable with Jaws 11 alright. "Also, the department links on the website itself have been altered and - in that way jaws has taken to doing of late - it doesn't indicate that it's a link or that it's clickable..." Yes, same here. Jaws 11 doesn't see them as links any more though it reads them ok. I tried clicking the departments links anyway and some of them expanded alright others just sent me to another random part of the page. So I agree they are not accessible. Just thought I'd post my findings. There is no drop down box with the departments listed in it any more - not in a screenreader friendly form anyway. Also, the department links on the website itself have been altered and - in that way jaws has taken to doing of late - it doesn't indicate that it's a link or that it's clickable and so I am guessing it's some kind of java generated link. So definitely less accessible on that front too. So I'm storing up my findings and intend to email amazon ... unless someone can tell me there's a way round it or that I'm using my screenreader like a bozo. I've just loged onto it and the search area on the home page doesn't look any different to me. I have to search under all departments, but it seems to work well enough. sometimes I get the webpage cannot be displayed message. If anyone finds a work around please let us know. How do you choose which department you search now? It seems screenreader unfriendly.
