Chris, I do recall having been informed more than a year ago and made the changes then. Maybe others weren't informed or chose not to take any action at the time knowing that the server addresses weren't going to change straightaway. It's easy to rip into BT at the first opportunity but they might not be guilty here.

Hi, I wished they'd stop changing settings without telling us. I may be missing something here though. We're with Sky so this wouldn't affect us, but thought I'd throw my £0.02 worth here.-- Chris Hallsworth E-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: CH9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 Klango: chrishallsworth FTP: ftp://blindsoftware:ilovecracks@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Website: www.chrishallsworth.co.nr----- Original Message ----- From: "saqib" <saqib@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, September 06, 2008 5:10 PM Subject: [access-uk] btE-mail announcementHi lately within the last 24 hours there have been problems with sending and receiving BT Internet e-mail through your preferred client. The reason for this is because the incoming and outgoing server address has changed.Usually the pop3 incoming server would be pop.btinternet.com and this has been changed to mail.btinternet.comThe SMTP has changed from SMTP.btinternet.com to mail.btinternet.comI had informed another BT user by telephone of this change and it had resolved his problem. The only way I had found this out is because I needed remote assistance from BT customer services and noticed the changes made by them after the call was ended.I hope this helps all who use BT Broadband.
