I'm with Tiscali and I have two of these filters. Here's my set up: I have one line into the house. In the main socket, I have a splitter, one cable going to my telephone and the other to the ADSL. The telephone line is plugged into a filter and the ADSL is plugged into another. When I first set it up, I didn't have the telephone plugged into the filter and the line was lousy. It's clear as a bell now. Barry H ----- Original Message ----- From: Justin R To: access uk Sent: Tuesday, October 19, 2004 10:30 AM Subject: [access-uk] broadband filters? Hi everyone, well, looking at other broadband service providers on ADSL, tiscali in particular. Tiscali talk about that you need broadband filters with the modem they supply. Well, they supplie 'em fine! but, What on earth are they? Are they really necessary? They say that one is needed for each line, or socket, like BT phoneline, sky etc. I've never had none of this filtering stuff with NTL. Just wondered what is it all about and does it make setting up a broadband connection complicated? thanks Justin ** To leave the list, send a message to:- ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, send a message to:- ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
