Jackie,

Have you used the virtual clipboard setting. This (theoretically) lets you input Braille as fast as you want then send it off to whatever device you're wanting to send to. Yes, the waiting comes at the stage where you're sending the written text to the device you wish to receive it as it first has to input it into the phone which, actually, isn't any quicker than putting it directly into the phone and allowing for the lag, but HIMS think it is! <BG>>

At least you can play around a bit with the Braille.

I have yet to determine whether this facility is limited to 255 characters, which I did think may be the case at some point, and I'm going to ask HIMS directly about this.

The command on the notetakers used to be different from that on the Smart Beetle but it could well be that they've changed that command to be a universal one. The command I use on the Smart Beetle is CTRL+C+Enter. I can't remember off the top of my head what I used to use (occasionally) with the Sense. Rajmund probably remembers though. I can ask him if you can't!

Does this help at all?

Hi John

I just find that if you write a message in Braille like on a U2, it is
laggy.  The time between you putting in each letter and those letters
appearing on the display is very slow, to me at least.

Kind Regards,

hi all
futher to my last on braille one difficulty with the android set-up with
braille is that you have to change the keyboard to the hardware keyboard.
now of course with the el-braille or touch this will not happen and of
course you will have grade 2 braille i think.

the ease of use with a stand alone is massive. though it can be done the
cheap way it is very very fiddley to do.

strange though i do find with the iphone my braille is very fast unlike
jackie. i do use the american computer braille though so when i enter a
number for number six i press lower f.
