Hello,
So are you essentially paying for the display?

Hi,

It does have specialised apps if you want them, but you don't have to. And
also you are really paying for the 32 cells. And, if I'm honest, it's very
nice Braille on all their displays.

All the best

Hello,
Yes, I understand. But on the other hand, this requires less designing,
considering it hasn't got specialised apps.

Hi,

Bear in mind though that it is priced similarly to these Note Takers which
have limited functionality.

Hello Steve,
Can you do the same with me, too? Unfortunately, its waaaaaay more beyond
what I'm willing to pay, I'm still interested, as this could be good for
people like myself, who have troubles using a QT keyboard.

Hi Steve

Thanks for the information, this sounds really interesting, apart from
the
price? (smile.)

Because I am a nosey bugger, could you send me some more details off
list,
please? But for the benefit of the list, what does the EasySuite offer?
Is
it like a suite of applications you would find on proprietary
note-takers,
for instance?

Kind Regards,

Jackie Brown

Hi Jackie,

Yes, it's called EsyTime. It is essentially a Windows 7 laptop built
into
a
32-cell Braille display without a screen. It runs Windows 7 and has 2GB
of
RAM. It also has a Braille keyboard, not a QWERTY one, though it has 3
USB
ports, so you can easily run a USB keyboard. It will be on our web site
shortly, I'm just waiting for my demo unit.

You can either buy it with EsySuite, which is a self-voicing suite of
programs suited to Braille, or you can buy it without, and install a
screen
reader of your choice.

Prices are #3,625 without EsySuite or #3,875 with EsySuite.

It will be up on our newly launched online shop very shortly.

Please contact me off list if you want more info, as prices on all the
Esys
range have been significantly reduced.

Thanks.

All the best

Steve

Well I agree with you that the Sense seems to be the best out there at
the
moment, but there is a new kid on the block on its way from EuroBraille?
Anyone know anything about it?

Hello Jackie,
Oh no, the apex is worse!!! The quick browser does OK, although its
awful
now that I've seen the way safari handles sites.

Hi Jeff

I'm afraid the U2 and U2 Mini continue on the same theme regarding
their browser, but I do recommend them for other uses. I personally
refuse to use the web on these note-takers as it is frankly crap! I
don't think the Apex is any better. But, in many other ways, I
wouldn't like to be without my U2 Mini.

My Braille-Sense 18 is pretty hammered.
Can anybody tell me if there is a better unit out there?
I need it to do the same kind of stuff but better web access and being

able to use the BBC web site more fully would be nice.
Also being able to click on a LINK in an email and going directly to
the web site would also be wonderful.
Most of the time even if I can open the email in the web browser it
just freezes.
Cheers
Jeff
