This is just great. I wonder, though, whether they are the same ones which we have come to know and to love. I looked on the site once, and found a vibrating watch that told all sorts of things. Such as the times the tides ebbed and flowed, ETC. I wondered when I saw those, whether they would be as blind friendly as the original ones about which we spoke.----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Hyde-Dryden" <csdryden@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi,

Yes, these are totally awesome watches. The one you're talking about is the
Tissot Silen-T. They are actually still in manufacture and cost £395.00.

Check any of the high end jewellers.

Best wishes

Steve

I have one, and swear by it. Its batteries last too. I can't say too many
fine things about the tissot watches. Though they are no longer made, and
must be gotten second hand. As I got mine. You might want to look at the
blind buy sell trade lists for one. That is where I got mine. I assure
you, if you do get one you won't be sorry, and won't ever want to let it go.

I've experienced some of these watches from RNIB and, to be honest,
wouldn't want to be seen dead in most! I was always particular about
how I'd accessorize, never had a lot of luxuries but watches have
always been a big thing for me in my youth, as would most young men,
so thankfully I heard about the tactile watches from Tissot. Not cheap
at around £300 and I even think that they've stopped production of
these? A real shame if so, as they're so James Bond the way that the
glass will pulsate under your pinky where the hands are! Takes a bit
of getting used to, but like anything, worth getting to grips with as
it still impresses! I was lucky enough to have found mine second hand
and if indeed these are no longer available, will be the only way to
find them now so be careful.

Eleanor you should know that everything is sold on Amazon! Thanks
all for your help I have a Liberace trying to get out so I will go
for the best one.
I also tried the cheaper ones and sent them back a while ago. Yes
the online shop is still not fixed I don't know why.

Cheers

Ron

Hello folks, could someone tell me where I can get a good
quality mens Braille or tactile watch. I have tried RNIB but they
have stopped selling the good ones.

  Thanks

  Ron
