Hi Derek,
In the case of the Touch, I don't think all these issues are training
issues, far from it. I think the hardware simply can't cope with anything
less than simple usage.
All the best
Steve

Hi Steve
Could the issue be a training issue?
Has Humanware actually confirmed they do have issues with braille note
touch?
Even a trainer isn't always fit for the job!
I remember a year or so ago, I bought a Braille display from Humanware.
Called Briliant!
I had a trainer here, (won't name him) and he did not know how to quickly
change from grade 2 braille to grade 1 braille.
So I managed to get someone else to come (this second person used to
work for RNIB now works for GDBA he was able to explain how to do it.
So the point is, how come not all trainers are aware?
I feel there should be an exam (so a training course) for trainers. This
would address issue about standards.
Regards, Derek

Hi,
Yes, if Braillenote Touch were on Android 6 or 7, it simply wouldn't cope I
don't believe.
But I think you should all quit moaning about it, and vote with your feet,
and get a refund. Or rather moan about it to Humanware, who probably won't
be interested anyway.
Mainstream rules.
All the best
Steve

hi there, unfortunately, this is not necessarily the version of android.
not all kitkat devices crash monthly. if you had a newer android, it could
still crash. if anything, it would probably be worse on a newer version. a
lot of it is the hardware, at this stage.

I'm sorry to say that Humanware's reputation both for product
excellence and great customer service have both gone through the
floor in relation to the BN Touch. I cannot remember another
note-taker which has so consistently failed to live up to its hype
and failed to deliver on its potential. HW has similarly
failed to address issues relating to the age and performance of the
BrailleAndroid OS running on the Touch and also dodged questions about
security patches being made available by Google. For me the
specialistNote Touch was the big disappointment of 2016. This disappointment
was compounded by the fact that it was the second piece of
