Hi Alison.
Not sure if they are still generally available but we have a steel frame that
slots into the perkins brailler. Before slotting into place, you can pull a
length of dymo label tape and it will lock firmly in place in the frame. You
then simply braille out the lable.
The braille is therefore always good and you only have to cut the dymo tape
down to the length you want after brailling.
You would have to line them up as you stick them on if you want multiple lines
and it’s more economic to braille two labels at once as the strip is obviously
40 cells long and most labels don’t need that much horizontally but we always
found it better than the old and almost disposable after a few uses dymo
labellers.
Regards.

I won’t bother with it then. I already have a Dymo gun, but it is so fiddly and
the letters don’t line up particularly accurately either.

Yes it’s exactly the same as the old dymo gun. Yusuf

Just a quick note: I went on the rnib website and couldn’t find the link to
the dymo gun at all. Calling the RNIB, neither could they find the product,
the cs agent did some digging and came up with this.

it’s the dymo gun in all but name it seems.

Yes i have a dymo gun but it’s fiddly to use and not wide enough for some
tasks. I can’t believe there is so little choice.

Hi Alison
Have you ever tried using a Braille Dymo gun? I still have mine and use it
now and then for odds and ends.
Kind regards,

I’m flabberghasted!
I rang RNIB this afternoon to order cd-sized self-adhesive labels, as I
have run out.
Not only don’t they sell these anymore, but they also don’t sell virtually
any others either. for example the long strips or the sheet of 4 or 6 labels.
The only self-adhesive labels they now sell are a Perkins-sized sheet.
I label my CDs, my herbs and a myriad of other things. Am I really going to
have to cut bits off Perkins-sized sheets in future?
