If you stop the machine with the press of the off button, then the door will
release after a few minutes, keeping the programme you selected if you don't
move the dial. This means you can put more clothes in if the cycle hasn't gone
too far, as the powder might have been used and drained if you're too slow in
realising you need to put that extra bit of clothing in. close the door, and
press the on button, the machine starts up again where it left off if nothing
else is touched.

Sorry but I don't agree with you that the boch washing machine can be opened
mid cycle as I also have the boch that on the 7th click of the dial is a very
quick wash and spin

In my experience The amount of water used in a washer is never enough to
make it so full water flows all over the floor if the door is opened mid
cycle. The water pools in the bottom of the drum, and may be up to the
level of the lower seal in the inside of the drum, but no further. The
agitation of the water causes the clothes to be washed. And yes, all
machines can be opened mid cycle inn case of machine breakdown. If the
machine fails, the computer will allow the door to be opened in most
cases.

Does this particular model of washer allow you to open it in the middle of
the cycle, thereby spilling water all over the floor?
