Hi Steve,
Not wanting to detract from what Pete might say but I'm very intrested in these
myself and did a google yesterday which brought up a very helpful review on
YouTube. The comment re sound leakage was once you get over 50% volume it
would be quite easy for someone standing next to you to hear the music / speech
that was coming from them. There other main comment was re the poor battery
life and the fact that the bass on them wasn't great.
I'm still very very interested in them though so will watch this thread with
interest.
Thanks,
Sarah

Hi Pete,
Just one question on them I forgot to write in my last post. How much sound
leakage is there? For example, if I am standing next to you and you're wearing
them, I would imagine there would be quite a bit of sound leakage.
All the best
Steve

Subject: [access-uk] bose frames
hi all,
for anyone that was interested in the new bose frame sunglasses i received mine
today and i am very impressed with them.
the sound is amazing, i played a recent movie "cold pursuit" which has really
good surround sound and the bose frames made it sound like you were in a
cinema, i then went into the AR section of the bose connect app and discovered
there are about 12 apps you can download some of which are free whiles others
have in app purchases.
i installed 6 of them of which the main ones that will be of use to me are Walc
spelt with a letter C instead of K, and Naviguide.
Walc is an app to give you relevent information about what is around you and to
guide you to places you want to walk to, while Naviguide appears to be a full
navigation program.
otocast seems to be for guided tours, while Radar is a bose app that
demonstrates the sound capabilities of the frames.
so for example i just activated the beach scene in the radar app and it was as
if you were stood on a beach with the sounds of the waves, people, and a plain
going over.
but where it got clever was if you start turning in a circle it was just as if
you were there, so as you turned the sounds of the waves and such like went
around the back of your head and back round to the front when you completed the
circle.
the one i want to figure out is the Walc app but i would guess that either it
isn't activated on the surver yet as some of the capabilities wern't ment to go
live until July or it will only work when you are out actually walking as i
selected a place not far from my house to walk to but when i tapped on that
place nothing seemed to happen.
i'm certainly impressed with them so far, and the smaller Rondo version i got
fit fine although the ends of the arms feel like they might cause pressure
comfort if warn for a long time, but without a doubt the larger Alto version
would have been to big.
when the smart features of these glasses that will tell you what you are
looking at in stores and museums and such like are activated they will be
extremely useful.
bose have updated their bose connect app to make it compatible with voiceover
and made it much easier to pair and setup devices, previously you had to
select and drag you device to a certain spot on the screen which didn't work
with voiceover but now it couldn't be simpler you just launch the connect app
and then turn the frames on and after a few seconds it shows that it has found
them so you can tap on them to give them a suitable name for you to recognise
them and then they automatically connect from then on.
pete.
