You can use your mike in, plus Goldwave or Sound Forge. Goldwave is simple though. Just plug in a mike, set Goldwave to record via the mike and off you go. Nothing could be simpler. The quality, depending on your mike, can be very good. Hi Carol, may I ask what the line in is used for? We wanted to record our family singing and playing instruments but we can't get my computer volume clear/loud enough to make a decent cd so any suggestions, like which is the best sound recorder? Thanks, Christine. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 04, 2008 11:27 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: best Laptop? > Jackie, > > The Dell also has the features you mention and I love being able to > control the volume at the touch of a button.
