I totally agree with what you said. I was by no means trying to say that people who complained about the website in question were incompetent or that they had no reason to complain and was in no way trying to say that their views are not valid, just that something like that, for me personally is not really worth complaining about. On a wider issue, like you said Mark, I've seen examples where many people found it hard or impossible to use some websites, which although not maybe perfect, were reasonably easy to use, but the person's knowledge of how to use a screenreader affectively was not very good. Again, I'm not blaming those users or anyone in particular here, just stating my personal opinion.

I totally agree here James. I think nowadays its almost gone to the other extreme...people are way too quick to brand a site as "Inaccessible". I also think people often confuse accessibility with ability...ability in using their assistive technology, where surely the solution is better training in the web environment. Like a user pointed out earlier, there's the '"Find" feature in most screen reading products now, and I personally find this a much more efficient method of navigating a site as opposed to the Links List Dialogue. Ok I guess one could argue one must have an idea of what they are searching for to enter as the Search String, but in my experience even on unfamiliar sites, there's a fairly good chance you'll strike lucky. The same undoubtedly can't be said for the Links List using first-letter navigation.

Others will no doubt take issue with me here, but the above is really my opinion.

I'd just like to close by pointing out I'm by no means rubbishing any of the viewpoints expressed so far on the list. After all, we all have our preferences on how we like to see things set out.

Regards,

Mark

There's the words 'Link to' before the main sections of the site. And this is a problem because? There isn't one as far as I can see, just because you can't use your links list feature, doesn't mean a website is bad. OK, you want an inaccessible site? www.speedtest.net. Try doing a Speed Test with that thing, I managed it, but it would be interesting to see what you make of it seen as a few words that are in the wrong place according to you seem to cause you problems. There are bigger problems in the world than this, surely?
