Ron how do you find it when compared to AVG or did you never use that? Is it supposed to be better than AVG which seems to be recognised by a lot of computer repairers?

Hi Mandy, please uninstall AVG and give Avast a try. I know, I'm talking
people into trying different software, but I found Avast to be very good
at
what it can do, plus it has more protection features than AVG does. Hope
that helps. P.S. I do know all about Nod32, but that's paid-for, whereas
the
home edition of Avast is completely free.

I've downloaded AVG from the link in the email below this one and cannot
alter any settings, each time I go to AVG interface I get an error
report.
Now my incoming emails say attachment whether there is or not and I am
unable to get to alter any of the default settings what do I do please?

It's the free AVG I'm using just upgraded from 7.5.

There actually is a brandnew free version of avg 8.0 but it is not very 
accessible and the interface crashes when jaws is running.

I this morning uninstalled avg free 7.5 and put in antivir free
edition.
