Hi Richard,

 

Can you set up Audacity as such? I don't think you can do that with any
sound editor, unless you have a separate sound card for the speech.

I don't know Audacity, but try Control-Tab.  I would highly recommend
Goldwave though, it is much more accessible, and though not free, is
inexpensive, and has much better filters like noise reduction and stuff.
