excellent jackie. whilst i realise they are not comparable i.e. in the sense
that one is a computer and the other a mobile phone, comparing the results of
scanning different materials would be very interesting.

Cheers

Tell you what I'll do then guys. If I can get my hands on one to play with
at some point, I will compile a fair and honest review of the two devices, the
Reader I have, and the new phone version. I don't know when that will be, of
course, but if it happens I'll do it and post back.

    Hi Steve,
I an sure the function most people on this list are interested in is the
text to speech. whilst the SI recogniser may be more versatile, at a price, it
does not preclude a comparison of this function. I for one would be most
interested. I think reading about these devices is the nearest I an going to
get to one for a long tine.

    Regards
    Philip

      Hi Paul,

You can't really do a comparative, because Recognizer runs on a full PC,
while KNFB runs on a PDA or a mobile phone. They are completely different
animals.

      All the best

      Steve

don't think they're available till march. it'd be interesting to see a
comparative review of the knfb and the si recogniser though. perhaps infotech
will do this at some stage - Terry.with the

        Hi

Was just wondering whether anyone had bought one of these yet, and
could give any independent feed back.

        Thanks.

        Terry
