Hi Mo

Yes I have found it, I have my files from my pc backed up on
disk but not knowing when the problem started that may not
work. It says it works with xp too, unfortunately it is a
different version for my laptop being 64 bit. Will keep you
posted.

Regards

Adrien

hi adrien. only certain programs need that file, which means
that if its
corrupt and nothing else is using it appart from avira then
that's the
only time you'd see the error. I don't have a resource to
hand to
download the file, but perhaps a search on google?

Hi Mo

I have run a system check with scandisk, I can never seem
to
get sfc/ scannow to work on this pc. Where do I download
the
dll files? I have just reinstalled avira from scratch, am
just waiting for the system to restart. I only seem to
have
the issue with avira.

hi adrien. the gwmhook.dll file is probably corrupt. have
you tried a
system file scan using your windows7 CD? go in to command
prompt windows
R, cmd and press enter. then type sfc /scannow and press
enter. that
should check to see if your windows files are all in tact.
you could
probably also download a clean copy of the file online.

cheers,

Mo.

Hi

I am getting the below message come up when I go to the
system tray, click on the icon to open to run avira, and
start avira, I reinstalled avira last night but I am
still
getting the message, how do I fix this?

SecurityCenter.exe - Bad Image

C:\Windows\system32\gwmhook.dll is either not designed to
run on
Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the
program
again using
the original installation media or contact your system
administrator or
the software vendor for support.
OK
