Yes I must clarify my remark, some advertising in context is always welcome as George wrote.

I definitely second that observation with regard to advertising. I

features, time and again any refference to accessability is given, at
best, a token mention.this leaves the prospective end user having to
follow one of two routes, one being to purchase the item and somehow
work out how to use the accessiblty features the device perportedly

box

Hi Mo.
Thankyou for your responce to my enquiry!
My new e-mail address is meikle.aiden@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and my telephone number has not changed from your customer database.
Regarding this device Mo. I'm seriously thinking of getting one, despite having a SKY plus and remote, which cost me £40, just sitting here in my study.
I like the idea of being able to arrow Up or down and hear the particular items spoken out to me, or type in numbers to get me to a particular page such as 0120 for bbc 6 music.
I could probably learn to use my SKY 2 box, but the idea of the menues and items speaking is very attractive to me. I don't have a SKY account incidentally, and all I'm interested in is "Freeview"
I really think that SKY's £80 a month is downright robery! £80 just to watch, mostly crap, on the TV each month. I don't think so. I pay BT £37 a month and I can do loads of different things on my computer.
The reason why I want a box is because often, whilst trying to listen, for
example, to the American golf open, during the weekend there , my computer was
saying:
to Due to rights issues, we are unable to stream this program to you in a Windows media format" Go to bbc$co$uk/5live.
But I could use my TV to listen to the golf and there is, of course, no charge for this, once you have the equipment.
So that's why I'm interested.
I have a friend who I need to pay to travel the 50miles from Glasgow, to set-up or install equipment within my house He is an audio engineer and very very knoledgable , but will he understand how to install one of your boxes into my home system. My home system takes all of my audio from my computers , TV and the like and pumps it all around my house.
I'd hate to get him to travel all the way north from Glasgow and not understand the particular box set-up re requirements, if they are particularly specialised.
You said that your boxes have an optic out.  That's what I need to plug into
the system.
good. For my house AV unit has an empty optic socket. as long as my friend will understand how to install the unit.
If I do purchase one Mo. Will you provide installation support information as well as a users manual?
It's very probable that my friend will be able to install this specialised box and that I will most probably buy one from you later this week.

Hello Andy.

I hope you do not miss this message with all the influx of perhaps mostly
pointless messages on list today. If you do, I apologize in advance, but I
don't seem to be able to find your original email address as the list is
filtering it. I'll try and give you a ring tomorrow. To answer your questions,
the box does have an optic out connection for connection to speaker equipment,
though you could also use a scartt to 3.5MM audio converter.

The menus are easy enough to navigate, though I'd check locally in Scotland to
see which channels will be available to you on freeview before purchase.

The cost of one of these boxes is £250 including shipping and support from us.
A manual is provided in print, audio, and via email. Braille is also an option
on request. We would also provide training via phone. We've worked together in
the past, so you know the usual excellent standard of service would be
provided. I hope this answers all your questions?

all the best,

Mo.

Hi Mo.
Can you tell me if these devices have a line or audio out, so I can push the audio through my AV unit.
Is it easy to navigate through the menues to find Radio 5 Live or Radio Scotland as well as check out what's on bbc 2 this evening, for example.
Finally, how much do you charge for these boxes and are they new or refurnished and do you provide any training information as how to use the machine.
If your answers are possitive, I'll probably buy one from you.

Very best wishes and kind regards
Andy Logue.
 From Scotland with love.

Hi andy. We still sell the tvonics set top boxes with speech. Everything on
screen is read out. You can also record and pause live tv. Recording names are
read out and audio description is also recorded. Please feel free to drop me a
note off list and I would be more than happy to have a chat with you to see if
the boxes are right for you. These only work with freeview, not sky.

support@xxxxxxxxxxx

Is where you will find us.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

All the best,

Mo.

Hi all.
Thinking of getting one of those talking Sky boxes. I'm really struggling with my standard box and although I've not watched TV for over 20 years, it would be nice to check out the audio described movies and of course, good old 5 live and 6 music.
Can anyone tell me what they are called, the cost and where I can purchase or find out more. I tried the RNIB but could not find anything on their rubbish website shop that sounded like what I was looking for.
Any advice very welcome.
Andy.
