No, to be fair.

But I just say OK Google, Next Track even when it's locked.

All the best

Hi Steve, do Google phones have shortcuts which are equivalent to Moto actions
such as skipping tracks  with  the volume keys when the phone is locked?

Has it been updated for Android 10 do you know Graham?  I found it a bit
dated when I last saw it.

Hi Bobby

Anna Dresner's iPhone tutorial is well worth reading/listening to and
is available in a variety of formats from the national braille press
website www.nbp.org

Cheers!  Graham

Hi Bobby,

Regarding you not having the patience to type into the iphone and wondering
about tutorials - have you tried dictating?  In a text field to do this you
either double-tap the dictate button or double-tap with two fingers; then
double-tap with two fingers to stop dictating.  If you're after tutorials or
other resources, depending what sort of style you like, you could check out
David Woodbridge's podcasts; applevis's podcasts; National Braille Press in
America which may have some DAISY books; and possibly see if the RNIB have
any relevant books.

Regarding android, I can't add much to what others have said about the
phones, but I would add that whichever phone you end up getting, lists like
this one and BCAB are invaluable for getting help to use your phone.

Thanks for the heads up on the android

Think I'll go for a google pixel as ya suggested, but there are
basically3 types inside my price range.

There is the google pixel, google pixel 3a and one with xl.

What's the differences?

And which would you suggest I go for?

And sorry Ibriham, but the phone is under contract with virgin
mobile, so I'll have to send it back.  I'll most likely have to pay a
penalty for canceling my contract early, but I can't justify paying
all that money when I hardly use it.

Only thing I use it for is calling and using soundscape.

I just don't have the patience to even try and type messages into the
damn thing.

What I really need is a good extensive tutorial I can work through .

Oh, and I heard about a mobile phone called the BlindShell.  Do you
think it's a viable option?  and where would I get it?

Thanks.

Bobby

Hi Bobby
If you’re going to be switching from an iPhone and your android
device is going to be your primary device going forward, I would
probably say a pixel or Samsung flagship would suit your needs best.
Incidentally if you could email me privately with details of the
iPhone you have I might have a buyer who is interested as I know
someone who is looking for a new iPhone or one in relatively good
condition. Drop me a note if you’re interested in selling.

Hi,

I'm thinking about ditching my Iphone and switching for an Android

Can someone give me some tips on which would be the best models? I
am totally blind so don't require ones with large screens, high
contrast etc.

Looking on the web, some say that the Google Pixel is a good one.
