hi Steve,
it only works from the mains supply, but your correct it does have a USB output
for charging as well.
it only has 5 buttons on it one large round one next to the display panel which
is the bluetooth button, and 1 button above each battery slot.
the ones above the battery slots are for reviewing and changing the charging
parameters of each slot but the information is totally visual but this is the
same information and settings that are available in the bluetooth app.
i forgot to say when searching for the app search for "esyb" rather than for E4
and you will find the esyb utility app and this is the one you need.
something else that will probably interest you Steve is a gadget that i only
found when the campaign had closed but it is supposed to be on sale in march
for just under 40$ and it's called a SmartMote.
it's a small universal hub that workswith both Alexa and the google equivalent
and you can pair your tv's, hi-fi, video recorders, satellite equipment and
much more and once it's paired for example with Alexa you can just speak to it
to control your equipment.
ie: say turn on the living room tv, turn to channel 5, increase the volume by 2
notches and much more.
the thing that looks so accessible about this one is that once it has been
setup for Alexa or google pairing your devices is even done by speaking to the
hub.
again for example you would say "smartmote pair with my tv" it would ask you
the make and then ask you for the model and would then ask you if your tv
turned on.
if you say yes then it would tell you that your tv has been paired and if not
it would try a different code.
it can even learn devices that are not in it's database by talking to it and
pressing buttons on the remote for the device when asked to.
you can find this at:

Hi,
Looks as though you can charge a phone with it as well. Gets more and more
interesting.
From the description though, I can’t tell if it has batteries of its own, IE,
is it a powerbank, or will it only charge on the mains?
All the best
Steve

hi all,
i thought some people might be interested in a battery charger that i came
across by accident which is very accessible.
it's called the esyb e4, it has 4 charging slots for all sizes of round
batteries, will charge NI-MH NI-CD AND
RECHARGEABLE Lithium BATTERIES.
it automatically recognises which batteries are put in each slot and where it
becomes so accessible is that you can
download an app for both Apple and Android devices which uses bluetooth to
connect to the charger and you can then
check everything about the charging state of the batteries.
you can check the percentage of charge on each battery, what ampage they are
being charged at and quite a bit more, if
the batteries are capable of being charged at a quicker rate you can tap on
that slot number and all the options will
come up and any ampage you can't use will be greyed out, but if the battery was
being charged at 1amp and they could be
charged at 2amps that button will be available for you to tap on to change the
charge rate.
the app is 99% accessible with the only thing i had a problem with is if i tap
on the bluetooth button in the app and
the charger isn't connected to the app a message will pop up telling you to
press the bluetooth button on the charger to
make a connection but i was unable to get rid of this message with voiceover
turned on so you have to turn off voiceover
do a one finger swipe to the right which closes the message and then turn on
voiceover again and then everything is
accessible with voiceover again.
the reason i thought this was such a good find is that there are sellers
selling this on amazon in packs of ten for
around £1000 and more but the url below will take you to the page of a seller
that is selling an individual charger for
£14.99 with free delivery.
when you compare this to the specialist talking battery chargers which cost
£100 plus this is a great buy and allows
you to access far more information about the batteries you are charging.
here is the url and i believe they have 14 left at this time.
