brilliant John thanks.
it has been charge for a while now and is saying battery too low so I think I have managed to get it going.
just a real shame it uses an old chip set.

I have the Breeze and you cannot over-charge it. Once full, the battery has an automatic discharge feature if still plugged into the mains.
