Well worth knowing this as had planned to get one of the SkyQ boxes sometime
over the next few months. Will wait a while now before I think about it
again.

Not accessibility related at all but I co-incidentally was discussing this kit
with my sighted sister yesterday.
She has had nothing but problems with the kit and has finally sent it back
after 5 visits from Sky Engineers.
On the final visit the engineer told her that she should return it as it was
widely known within the Sky engineers that the kit had been rushed out too
early.
He said that the return back for normal sky boxes was about 2% but the return
rate for these new boxes was running at a record 32%.
It was his opinion that the kits would be eventually very good but they were
not the finished product or ready for release in all real world situations yet.
There was a lot of refinements needed.
Only hearsay but from the proverbial “horse’s mouth” so if somebody is
interested it may be worth waiting for the next generation of boxes when the
connection problems etc get sorted.

Hi Adrian,
No, the only way you can use Sky Q with any degree of accessibility, is with
the iOS or Android app.
All the best

Subject: [access-uk] a sky question
Hi
Has anyone tried one of the new sky q boxes, are they accessible, how can I
find out how they work? Also, how can I access my recordings on my sky box, it
is a new box, what do I need to do this? Is there a way to link it with my pc?
Regards
Adrien
