HI Peter,

Yes, zoomtext series 8 has caused a lot of people all sorts of troubles. Performance, overall performance seems to be the main issue with all of us. The only problems I have with 8.1 is that already half downloaded webpages take a long time to finish. Now this is due to zoomtext indexing the page for the likes of appreader to work on these webpages. The webpages literally have to refresh themselves first before I can read them. The same applies when using text boxes to search. As soon as I start writing, the page refreshes itself and.... the first letter, two letters sometimes, are wiped off! I have to start again! Sometimes this problem gets bad when I visit a page I know my way around, hit a link to find it won't work! Then, after repeatedly trying, I find the mouse jumps to another link as i hit and, I'm where I "don't" wanna be on the web. This is a zt problem and not an internet problem. As i say appreader and such need zt to index webpages for use. I'm glad that this isn't the case with the 9 beta version.

8.1 was very sluggish on my machine overall. It's only been since the last update with 8.1 has this got somewhat better. However, I think aisquared have a long way to go to get zt back to the status it was in series 7.

I'd like to ask all users of Zoomtext 8.1 if they are having difficulty with
their software? I am having a lot of trouble on both of my laptops, one
actually is totally out of comission because loading Zoomtext sends the
laptop into a coniption. I was very happy with 7.10, and ever since the 8
series I have had problems. Zoomtext support, as usual, won't accept that the
trouble lies in their product.
Needless to say I'm a little annoyed as I don't believe its my machines.
