As Andrew has said, the XP Format is as reliable as it
comes.

The only exception, or perhaps caution, I would add, might
be if you were passing the system on to a third party, and
it had previously contained highly sensitive or confidential
information.  In that case, there are third party formatters
specifically designed to wipe all trace of data entirely
from the drive.
