Greetings,

I still need to use an old version of XL, namely XL2000Pro on both w7 and
WXP systems, in consequence, there may be features I do not have.

I have a column to count the letter "y", at present, the formula used for
example is:

=COUNTIF(D3:D45,"y")

Is there a way I can replace the 45 by something which says I want a count
of all "y" in column d from 3 until reaching this line?  for instance,
something like:

=COUNTIF(D3:D%n,"y")

or

=COUNTIF(D3:D+,"y")

remember, it must be useable by an old version of XL.

Thanks.
