Hi Peter.

A wireless headset does not use any of the components of your Wi-Fi networking
hardware which is what you are seeing in device manager. Your new wireless
headset will come with a dongle which will plug in to your USB port of your
computer, you will see this as another sound card.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] Wireless connectivity

Using Windows 7

I want to use a wireless headset with my PC. I can’t remember if it has a
wireless card and am not sure how to check. I looked in device manager and
found: “Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter”. I used Google to check what
this was but to my non-technical mind I couldn’t tell if this just meant that
there was some software installed or that there is actually a wireless card
inside the computer.

Can somebody tell me what I need to do please.

Thanks.

Peter
