Jim, I have had the same problem with two win 7 machines over the past 2 days. One is a 32 bit and the other a 64 bit, and the same 3 updates are reported as installed ok through windows update, but after a reboot the available updates notification in the system tray appears again. No idea why, but would be glad of a fix if there's one out there. XP Home, Office 2003 JAWS 7 and 13 On Wednesday, I was notified about several Microsoft updates and downloaded them all. This morning I received further notification that a further 3 updates were ready to be installed. I'm sure that these 3 were in the original list I received on Wednesday. Nevertheless I clicked on the download button and left the PC to do something elsewhere in the house. I came back about 5 minutes later and the same message about "Updates were ready to be installed". On checking the list I found they were the same 3 as before. I clicked on download again and stayed by the computer to observe progress. I checked the status bar and it stated that updates were being installed. 5 minutes later the updates message appeared again, this time I pressed the cancel button. Is it me, the computer or Friday the 13th playing silly b's? Jim Williams
