Hi If there's no sign of a device within device manager, under the sound = devices category, then there isn't card for XP to configure. If it's an = on-board sound card, maybe a jumper has been set to disable on-board = sound. Either within bios, or on the main board itself. If it's a PCI = internal card, maybe it has slipped out of the slot. Maybe, it's related to why it was necessary to reinstall XP?
