No you need to exit from the system tray. If you think about it, what's the point in closing Windows Live with alt F4, as you won't be online if that was the case.

This happens even if I sign out. When I close Windows Live Messenger it says "Windows Live Messenger is still running", I can't find anything in Options to stop it remaining running in the background when I exit the program, anyone any ideas?
