Also you can now set up Hotmail using their free pop/smtp service should you
have that available in your country.

Hi.

Yes, you can set up mail on your phone, you can either use a mobile website
which is a scaled down version of hotmail or the windows live for mobile
application depending on your preference. Also, some phones allow you to
set up hotmail through the phone's own interface but I couldn't tell you
whether this would be available on your model. It certainly is on the E71.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrahim. Thanks for that explanation. I like this way of retrieving
e-mail as I can check them when ever it suits me on either machine and I
don't feel obliged to run through them all in a mad hurry when I am short of
time. I wonder if I can take it a step further and bring in Mail on my
phone? I know pop3 works on phone but I've never tried Webmail.

  Hi Saqib.

This is because Hotmail uses a protocol similar to IMAP where all messages
are stored server side and not downloaded to your computer. If you moved,
read or deleted any messages from your inbox, those changes would show up on
all computers in to which you log in to your mail account, either using mail
or hotmail on the web.

  All the best, Ibrahim.

HI. I'm slightly confused about Windows Live Mail. I'm using my Hotmail
account and can't tell whether the messages are downloaded to my computer or
not. The reason why I'm enquiring about this because I was checking my mail
this morning and left 20 messages in my inbox unread. Later on in the day I
logged in to the Mail client and I got the messages in which I'd left unread
on the other machine. I had the 20 messages in which I hadn't read this
morning plus the new ones that came in. This wouldn't happen with a pop3
account because downloaded messages can not be downloaded again on another
machine.
