When I had that difficulty about 6 months ago, I sent a mail to the 
microsoft support team from the live messenger site if I remember right and 
they reply with a form I had to fill in and mail back to them. They then 
sent a mail with a number I had to type in the box where the graphics are 
and it worked.
Don't think I kept the mail to tell you precisely where it came from though.
I will look and pass it on if I find it.
Try again to ask for help from the support team by filling their 
questionaire, If you do it many times, they might come to the rescue.
