Hi Steve, Many thanks for the info. I managed it no problem, however, if I closed outlook down, and opened it again, the graphics weren't announced. Any ideas? Cheers Andrew -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Nutt Sent: 30 January 2007 21:32 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Window-eyes and Outlook 2003. Hi Andrew, Yes, move the mouse to each graphic, then Control-Shift-E. You can move to each graphic by using the move by clip commands. These are insert-7 and insert-9 for previous and next clip on the number pad. So move to an unread message, for example, press Insert-7 on the keypad, and you should hear the word Graphic. At this point, press Control-Shift-E and you will be asked for the speech and Braille labels for the graphics. Just fill in the speech and press enter. When you have labelled all the graphics, go to Window-Eyes control panel, control-backslash, then File, then Save, then Graphics Dictionary. Hi Steve, I tried to Auto label the graphics, by doing Insert + G. It appeared to work, but I still am unable to get the status of messages announced. Can this be done manually? Hi Andrew, Yes they can, but you would have to re-label all the graphics in Outlook. Certainly do-able. All the best -- Computer Room Services: the long cane for blind computer users. Hi Steve, Many thanks for your reply. Everything was set up correctly. I did find the problem. I have a bit of sight, and my screen was set to high contrast black. As soon as I changed it to Windows standard outlook started behaving. So it looks as if Window-eyes works better with the default colour scheme. Can the set files be modified in the demo to handle the high contrast black colour scheme Andrew -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Nutt Sent: 29 January 2007 21:13 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Window-eyes and Outlook 2003. Hi Andrew, No, but make sure that Outlook is set up right. Please do the following:- 1. Go to the Window-Eyes file menu. 2. Press F for Factory Defaults. 3. Press O until you hear Office 2003. 4. Press Tab, and read the readme, and make sure that all the directions are followed for Outlook, such as the Preview Payne. 5. Press tab once more to the Install button, and install them. You may not have the right set files loaded for Office 2003. 6. Finally, if Outlook was open when you did this, close it and reopen it. You should be up and kicking. Hi All, I am trying a demo of window-eyes, and the only thing I can't appear to get working is the status of messages in outlook 2003. E.G. New, Open, etc. Do I need to turn something on?
