Hi Andy, Impossible for me to take sides on any manufacturer, but personally speaking, and of course from my business point of view, I was introduced to Drayek Vigor routers by a blind system administration person who must remain nameless. http://www.draytek.co.uk/ Although these guys have a very simple web based interface, and are probably more expensive than others, as far as I am concerned they have proved to be very reliable. But see what others say here about what they have got. George. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andy Collins Sent: Monday, March 03, 2008 10:13 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Will this router/modem do the job? Hi George - Well I do use Vista now, on the laptop! So maybe I should be looking at other manufacturers other than Netgear? I'm aware of Linksys, but have read quite a lot of reviews where people have had problems with the installation, and with loss of connection! - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: "George Bell" <george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, March 03, 2008 9:50 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Will this router/modem do the job? | Frankly, Andy, I'd be looking for Router/Modems which work | with both XP AND Vista. You may not need Vista now, but at | least you will know they are as up to date as possible. | | George. | | -----Original Message----- | From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx | [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andy Collins | Sent: Monday, March 03, 2008 9:18 PM | To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx | Subject: [access-uk] Re: Will this router/modem do the job? | | Hi George - | | So, is this to say that going for the more expensive 2005 | model would be | best? There doesn't seem to be anything more up-to-date than | that; Netgear | have given links on their site to download drivers for all | of their models | to be compliant with Vista - | | Andy | ----- Original Message ----- | From: "George Bell" <george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> | To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> | Sent: Monday, March 03, 2008 8:58 PM | Subject: [access-uk] Re: Will this router/modem do the job? | | || Hi Andy, || || Can I be very blunt? 2003 to 2008 is 5 years.
