I take it this is the same for Windows 8 as well?

I am soon to get a Windows 8 rig and would find it useful for when I get it.

Hi John,

Press Windows + C to open the Charms bar.
DownArrow to Settings and press Enter.
DownArrow to Personalization and press Enter.
Shift + Tab to Taskbar and Navigation and press Enter.
You need to get to the Navigation page. Control + Tab once will do it,
then Tab through to the checkbox whose label starts with "When I sign in
or close..." and check it.

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Where to turn on go straight to Desktop at start-up
in Windows 8.1?

Hello All,

Whilst I was first going through various options and views in my new
copy of Windows 8.1, I seem to recall noticing an option to check so
that you could come straight to the Desktop at start-up. However, I've
tried to find this since to turn it on but with no success. Can anyone
give me directions as to where to go directly to do this, please but
not using the various search boxes?

thanks.
John.
