Hi Peter,

Perhaps an easier way to get to what is called a "Command
Prompt" is to go to Start, then All Programs. Now navigate
to Accessories, under which you will find "Command Prompt".

When you press Enter on Command Prompt you will be in what
your ISP called a "black window"

Now simply type:

ping www.ezeedsl.co.uk

And press return

George.

Hi Peter,

Did you type:

ping www.ezeedsl.co.uk

all on one line? (It was on two lines in your message)

Anyway - it works as it should here.

George.

I have been having problems accessing certain sites and
e-mailled my ISP and below is what I was instructed to do.
Hi Peter,
Can you please try to ping these sites?
Go to "START" then select "RUN" in the box provided type
"COMMAND"
Once the black console appears type:
ping
www.ezeedsl.co.uk
press return and could you please let me know what message
was displayed.
I did as instructed but all I got was a windows error
message.
