Wendy There is a problem with the radio player. Read all about it at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbbbc7/F2574422?thread=4374478 Iain ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wendy Sharpe" <w.sharpe@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 25, 2007 10:19 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Webbie upgrades This problem also occurs on radio 4, which I am convinced is missing lots of programmes. I haven't explored all stations, but I too noticed that BBC7 was much depleted. I do hope this is only a temporary problem. I haven't found a problem with the other stations yet, but I am annoyed with BBC7 as I wanted to listen to The Dopleganger again which was broadcast on Saturday. And when I put the newest webby on the system it has gotten rid of all the accessible programs like the listen again most annoyed. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Douglas Harrison" <harrison1d@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 25, 2007 6:51 AM Subject: [access-uk] Webbie upgrades I believe that several list members, other than myself, have Webbie installed on their systems and perhaps one of them may be willing to comment on the following. A new version of Webbie 3.3.5 has recently been released (strangely there was no 3.3.3 or 3.3.4!). in the Help menu of version 3.3.2 an item was added allowing the user to check for updates and I decided to give this a try. It correctly informed me that 3.3.5 was now available and allowed me to download the latter. It then asked if I wanted to install it - I agreed, only to be told that it had detected an earlier version of Webbie and that the latter must be uninstalled before the new version could go in. This seems a strange way for an update facility within a program to behave - unless there is something odd on my system. i would be interested to know if anyone else can reproduce this. As uninstalling Webbie probably uninstalls all the Accessible programs at the same time, I suspect that there is a possibility that the stored RSS feeds, Podcasts etc. would be lost in the process. As a matter of interest it has been possible for some time to download (from http://download.webbie.org.uk) a zip archive containing Webbie and the Accessible programs (including some still at a beta stage. This gives a stand alone Webbie which does not require installation and could be used from a portable device like a memory stick. Seems a good idea, except that trying to run several of the exe files gives me an error message! Again I would be interested to hear if anyone else has tried this version. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
