I was asked by the London Legacy Development Coproration to participate in a
WayFinding Student Research that they are supporting at the Olympic Park.
Although the explanatory details below say that you will be asked to walk
unguided – do not worry you will not be abandoned and will be safe at all time.
I actually think Research like this is important to increase awareness of the
difficulties totally blind people experience in Open Spaces.
If anybody would consider assisting Maryam with her research could you contact
her directly in the details below.

Olympic Park
If you are a person with sight loss, you’re invited to participate in a MSc
Student project (Project ID: UCLIC/1617/018/MSc Holloway/Bandukda) exploring
wayfinding experience for people with sight loss at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic
Park in Stratford, London.
Eligibility:
Age criteria: between 20 and 70 years

Information about the research:
The study comprises of an experiment task followed by a short interview. You
will be accompanied from Stratford City station to the Olympic park where you
will be asked to participate in a navigation experiment. The researcher will
give you a verbal description of the route you’ll be required to walk unguided.
As you navigate, you’re encouraged to share your thoughts on your walking
experience. In the follow up interview, you’ll be asked specific questions
about how you felt during the task.
The experiment and interview will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
As an incentive for your participation, all participants will be given a £15
Amazon gift card.
