Wouldn't this be the type of thing that Ocean Blue were talking about when they mentioned their chip set they were going to design a couple of years ago? If we had a Government that was into advancing innovations they would be supporting people like Ocean Blue. There are some internet connected washing machines out there on the market, you can connect them to your WiFi network and through either a home network or internet connection control them. They aren't cheap mind. It does beg the question though, why are manufacturers pumping out ever more sophisticated note takers and other assistive technology gadgets yet no one has actually produced a talking washing machine and so on? I'd personally love to see a prototype control panel which can be fitted to machines which provides full access to the vast array of features present on today's modern kitchen tech? There are already touch screen washers and cookers on the market and who knows what the future holds, but I doubt it will be very blind friendly. All the best, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ankers, Dave (UK)" <Dave.Ankers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, February 03, 2011 9:37 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Washing machine recommendations > Jackie, > > You want a reliable Washer/Dryer, try Miele. > > Now what would be nice, is if manufacturers, whose machines have > bluetooth technology, like Miele, would be for them to provide a mobile > App to operate the machine. > > Cheers > > Dave > > Hi > > Firstly, I wouldn't recommend a combined washing-machine come dryer, but > that's through choice and experience of their unreliability. > > On its own, we have a Bosch washing-machine.
