Believe me, Trace, I've seen both working for myself. Rather extreme, and very much last resort, but if your back's to the wall...... Another one is that you can put your external hard drive in the freezer if its playing up, you have to cool the room before getting it out though and hook it up to your computer asap to get the data off it before it warms up, not sure it'd work myself but, I just love hearing all of these strange ideas. I don't have a dishwasher, but I guess aswill in a sink would go some way to washing them out. Crazy idea, and only as a last resort before tipping a keyboard, but 8 out of 10 usually survive and go onfor another year or more. If only I had taken out the extended warrantee. I never believed that these were worth the money. Still, would thewarranteecover me for accidental damage? I'll leave it drying out until this afternoon and see if it works. Still, it might haveonlyfried the battery, which I can buy a replacement from Humanware. I did that with a Nokia about 4 years back. The Nokiadidwork again but it's camera was recked and it doesnt' remember the Date/Time if it's powered off. I still have it and have used it asanemergency spare. Regarding your Stream... You maybe covered still by Humanware if itis less than a year old. Try contacting Tom burton in Tech Support Humanware UK tom.burton@xxxxxxxxxxxxx . I feel your pain! Two days before I went on Microsoft Cert training(only in the last week or so), I managed to dump a cup of tea off a side table over my 3 week old MSI Laptop that I bought in Canada!Thething was wrecked. I dried it out for 24 hours but when I opened itthe RAM, Motherboard and CPU were covered with stickyness from theMilk in the tea.I had to run up to PC World and buy a Toshiba I3 as I needed amachineto take away with me. Luckily our house insurance with Loyds are covering the liquid laptop! Perhaps it's the name? Maybe we're cursed? Lol Sorry fella I knowit sucks. Best of luck with Humanware! If you must know, I had the stream in a toppocket and wasadjusting the fittings on the seat so, thankfully, it wasa cleantoilet. I took the back off the Stream and the battery out thenlaid all on atowel in the airing cupboard to dry. Has anyone elsesuccessfullydried out their Stream and got it working properly againafter adunking? As a boy-scout precaution, if it is defunct, I'd likesuggestions fora replacement. Isn't there a player that's smaller andhas an FMradio built in? Wonder what my insurance is like.
