Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't work. I've also deactivated the new
message alert in my answerphone settings and it's still coming up. Not a big
deal I suppose just irritating. Do you reckon this is something to do with
Orange or something to do with the way the handset is configured...ta again

Sunil, I to had this happen on a 6680 and following advice from another
listrer, Mark Brett, I was able to solve the problem. Here's what he
suggested I do.

ring your phone and leave a message on the voicemail. Once you have done
that hold down 1 so it goes through to your voicemail, if holding 1 doesn't
work dial 123 and then send button. Then listen to your message and press 3

to delete the message off.
Don't hang up for about 6 seconds after removing the voicemail message. Now

hopefully the voicemail spool will have disappeared from your phone.

As I say, this worked for me.

Good Luck.

Darran

Subject: [access-uk] Voicemail waiting on line one - message

| Hi, When I execute Talks key +key2 for signal and battery strength on my
| phone, I'm told that there's a voicemail waiting on line one, regardless
of
| whether or not there are any voice messages waiting. So when I check my
| voice messages, I'm told there aren't any new ones or saved ones either.
The
| message persists when I turn the phone off and back on again, I'm asked
when
| the phone boots up if I want to listen to the voicemails or exit. I pick
the
| option to listen but I'm then told by the Orange answering service that I
| have no messages. Why is this happening? It started when I put my sim card
| into a different phone I bought...cheers
